Compendium Successfully Transitions to knkPublishing,
Achieving Advanced Future-Proofed Functionality

knk Software LP and Compendium Inc. have announced the successful go-live of knkPublishing—the only Microsoft-certified software for publishers worldwide—after transitioning from their current system, Microsoft Dynamics SL. Microsoft had announced the end of support to be October 2022, when they would no longer be providing new features or updates, so a new solution was necessary.

Jim Darragh, CFO/COO of Compendium, spoke highly of the implementation stating, “Compendium transitioned to knkPublishing as a future-proof solution that can support growth and offer advanced functionality after experiencing insufficient capabilities and interface risks with Microsoft Dynamics SL. This new platform eliminates the risk and expense of supporting multiple applications and connections, while also aligning with industry best practices across all departments.” He adds, “The recent go-live represents a significant milestone for us, as it reinforces our commitment to innovation and keeping current with the evolving industry landscape.”

The migration was successful, and with knkPublishing, Compendium has achieved its goal of an integrated system that can support its business needs and position the company for future success. This software integration replaces multiple applications, streamlining processes and improving overall efficiency. The focus of knkPublishing includes Financials, Sales & Distribution, Inventory Management, Demand Planning, Warehouse & Shipping Management, and Credit Card Processing.

knkPublishing ensures that all the necessary functionalities are incorporated into a single platform and that the system is up to date with the latest technology. This will not only improve the efficiency of Compendium’s operations but also make it easier for users to access the information they need.

In addition, Compendium is now able to use knkPublishing for media distribution. Features like Customer Payment Portal and Automated AR Processing which are currently underway, will provide a self-service for customers and eliminate manual workflows. Integration with various eCommerce sites and online marketplaces was a key achievement in the project. Also, backend order to cash processes involving Customer Service and Warehouse departments were successfully transitioned and backorder handling was significantly enhanced.

“We’re proud of the successful implementation of knkPublishing at Compendium and the dedication of our team in making it happen,” said Sebastian Mayeres, CEO of knk Software LP. “This project not only represents a significant milestone for Compendium, but also demonstrates the importance of investing in the right people to achieve success. With knkPublishing, Compendium now has a future-proofed solution that can support growth and offer advanced functionality, as well as an integrated system that streamlines processes and improves overall efficiency. We look forward to seeing the continued success of Compendium with knkPublishing.”
