knkPublishing, the only Microsoft-certified publishing software in the world, is the new royalty software at Carnegie Learning, a leading provider of powerful, innovative solutions for K-12 education. The publishing software went live after only a three-month project duration.

The project included migrating data from a BookMaster system that was previously used to manage Carnegie Learning’s contracts, author information and royalties history.

“We have successfully migrated all of our author and contract information to knkPublishing. From now on, we will use knkPublishing’s royalty capabilities to support all our processes from contract negotiation up to final royalty accounting. It is an essential part of our IT infrastructure,” says Rick Macurak, CIO of Carnegie Learning.

knkPublishing is deployed in the Azure cloud in knk’s US multi-tenant environment for knkPublishing. Carnegie Learning uses the knkPublishing standard without customization.

“Carnegie Learning quickly arrived at the decision to move forward with knkPublishing. They immediately allocated resources to the project, and we did the same. This was an early indicator of strong collaboration, clear decision-making and great teamwork that made it possible to go-live after only three months. We were eager to bring them online quickly with minimal disruption to their normal business activities,” adds Jason Spanos, Chief Revenue Officer of knk Software LP.

The project kicked off in January 2020 and the software went live first week of April.
