knkPublishing is the new royalty software at the Melbourne-based publisher Hinkler. The project went live after a seven months project with no setbacks.

Hinkler is a Melbourne-based independent publisher selling 20 million products in 38 languages throughout 77 different countries each year.

According to Sally Lewis, Hinkler’s Head of Transformation & Strategy, “After an in-depth review process of royalty software providers, we chose knkPublishing on the back of the usability and flexibility of the system, and also from the depth of understanding that the team at knk had of how to address our requirements list.  The entire process from start to finish has been an easy transition and we have found both the software and the team at knk have contributed to a successful project”.

At Hinkler, knkPublishing is used for royalty management and accounting. Sales information from multiple systems in Australia, Hong Kong, and the UK is imported in an automated fashion to minimize the manual workload associated with. Sales information include data from Australia, Hong Kong, and the UK. After the royalty accounting calculations are performed, payables are exported from knkPublishing to Hinkler’s accounting system Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations to complete the process.

The publishing software is deployed in the Azure cloud.

“We are delighted to welcome Hinkler to our customer base and looking forward to continued expansion of our relationship with the Australian publishing community. Modern communication tools such as Microsoft teams, help us to work together efficiently during the course of the project even if colleagues are working on different continents. Thank you very much for the great collaboration throughout the project,” adds Jason Spanos, Chief Revenue Officer of knk Software LP.
