knk is pleased to announce the appointment of Shona Burns to the knk team as an Implementation Consultant. Ms. Burns joins knk having spent three decades in the book publishing industry.
Prior to joining knk, Ms. Burns served as Executive Director of Production at Chronicle Books, a division of McEvoy Media. Her brief in this role included setting strategy, managing business processes, and managing operating budgets for the Manufacturing and the Managing Editorial departments.
Ms. Burns has extensive experience in the publishing and printing industries in North America and Europe. She launched her career in print sales in Europe, before moving to Penguin UK as Deputy Production Manager. After leaving Penguin, Shona joined Chronicle Books LLC for a 22-year stint and steady progression in responsibilities including assignments as Production Manager, Production Director and eventual promotion to Executive Director. “As a result of this experience, Shona has developed critical skills in managing internal and external stakeholders as well as operational and technical capabilities that will bring significant benefits to knk and especially knk’s clients. Ms. Burns holds undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco and is a Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation. She is the founding Board Member and VP of the Bay Area Women in Publishing and Co-Director of The Bay Area Organization Development Network.
